TruckVaults’s newly designed Lift System Technology for spare tire access in the new Ford Explorer PPV debuted at SHOT Show ’13 in Las Vegas, NV. Engineers at TruckVault developed this product due to high demand from the Public Safety sector for a product that would securely store firearms and valuable equipment in the rear cargo area while allowing for spare tire access in the new Ford SUV pursuit vehicles. Current designs allow occupants of the vehicle easy access to the spare tire compartment in case they incur a flat while on patrol. This compartment lies directly underneath a TruckVault secure in-vehicle storage system. An officer can easily extend the TruckVault and lift it with the help of the gas assist pistons located on either side of the vault.
