The Invisio bone-mic tactical headset has been redesigned using lightweight, durable materials to allow users to wear the device for long periods of time. The earpiece is 25 percent smaller and has a new shape that better fits in the ear canal. The new physical design includes a sound-isolating tip (baffle) to reduce the amount of background noise, such as wind or crowds, from ever reaching the user's ear. The Invisio, from Television Equipment Associates, works well in high-noise environments because it picks up voice vibrations from the jawbone inside the ear. It does not pick up airborne sounds such as ambient speech and loud noise.
